Lux Aurea candles are pure beeswax candles finished by hand with 24k (99.99%) pure gold double leaf.
The base beeswax color is your choice of natural yellow that blends with the metallic gold leaf, or black - which provides a dramatic contrast to the metallic gold leaf.
These narrow pillars are poured and finished by hand in our signature byzantine dripped style, giving the lights an ancient look and feel. The 4.5” candle is a smaller, more versatile light with a burn time of about 40-50 hours. The taller 6.5” pillar has a burn time of around 60-70 hours.
The precious element of Gold is forged in the explosions of dying stars (supernova) and travels to Earth in meteorites. In both the material and spiritual realms - gold is absolutely superb.

NOTE ON SAFETY: Lux Aurea are just as safe to burn and use as our natural beeswax candles - the gold metal is chemically unreactive and its melting point is far above that of the candle flame. You will notice the gold flakes collect in the molten wax pool and on the wick, which is beautiful to experience and should not interfere with the burn of the candle.

These 10" tapers come in pairs and are cast in a colonial tin mold with a square-braid cotton wick. The bottoms have some give to allow you to mold them with your thumbs/fingers to a standard taper holder or candelabra.
